A New Look for SouthSide

SouthSide is kicking off the year with an exciting new update! We are refreshing our logo to demonstrate that SouthSide continues to grow and evolve, visually representing the bright and playful aspects of our school’s culture while reflecting the diversity within our community.  Check out the new logo!

The logo includes two children with different skin tones and a bolder color scheme throughout. Over the past year we’ve had a series of conversations about updating our organization’s branding, including our logo. The logo is an important part of our identity, so we wanted to be strategic and purposeful when considering changing the look and feel. From a practical standpoint, our previous logo had a lighter font and negative space in the circle, which made it challenging to show up on printed materials.

Additionally, given that we have families and staff from all different backgrounds at our Center, we wanted our logo to represent the diversity and inclusion that we value and celebrate here more accurately. Having two children playing together provides an opportunity to visually bring to life the vibrancy of our organization.

This process involved input from a large group of contributors, including the Marketing & Communications committee, the full board of directors, our Parent/Staff Leadership committee, and other SouthSide staff. All felt like this was a positive move in the right direction. One parent said, “I love the addition of the children, it is very unique and haven’t seen it anywhere else. I love the diversity with the kids – representation matters.”

We hope you love this logo as much as we do!
